2008 Mercedes GL320 CDI for sale in Lafayette, Indiana

$16,000

Added the following Mercedes extras: chrome luggage racks, chrome fog lamps, chrome door handle caps, chrome hood vents, rear chrome bumper cover, lighted door sills, Mercedes rubber floor mats (including rear cargo mat), some very heavy cross luggage racks (with built in locks), Mercedes AMG mags with the appropriate Continental tires, and more. The result is a GL320 that looks like the top of the line GL550..but because it is a diesel, the highway MPG at 65 is 24-28, instead of 15-18 with the GL550. (The overall average mpg for that last 4000 miles is currently an astounding 23.4..which includes a lot of idling.) I will not reset that counter so the buyer can confirm. I also have had a maintanence contract with a $200 deductible, so I have maintained it meticously. Most importantly, in my opinion, 2 were the only years Mercedes made the GL diesel as a CDI, compared to 2009 on when they went to Bluetech diesels which: 1-require a pollution control additive, 2-does not have a full-size spare tire, and 3-the MPG drops slightly. That is why I did not buy a new GL diesel. With this GL CDI, I just pull up to the pump, fill, and go. My wife and I are semi-retired, and have driven it to ski country in Colorado several times, and other misc. vacations. At 75 mph, it gets 22-25 mpg..and at 55 mph I routinely get 30-32 mpg. NO other full-size SUV comes close..and for that matter most of the smaller SUV's can't compete. And with nearly 400 ft lbs of torque, while driving on the interstate at highway speed, it can accelerate effortlessly without the need to rev up the rpm as a gasoline engine would do. I love that aspect of diesel.
