Dietary Aide

TheDietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning responsibilities in accordancewith sanitation standards.

ESSENTIALPOSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains high sanitation and personal hygiene levels.

  • Assists in preparation andportion of meal items according to menu and diet requirements.

  • Assists in the service ofmeals in accordance with sanitation standards. Any substandard quality of food must be brought to the attention of theDietary Services Manager.

  • Sets up trays and cartsaccording to menu and diet requirements.

  • Monitors food and beverageto assure proper temperature for service.

  • Collects soiled trays andwashes dishes.

  • Cleans equipment asassigned.

  • Prepares dietarysupplements/snacks and other foods according to standardized recipes ormanufacturers instructions.

  • Maintains food service areain clean condition at all times in accordance with facility procedures.

  • Prepares and maintainssupply of food substitutes to accommodate resident choices, cultural, ethnic,and religious preferences.

  • Handles, stores, anddisposes of food supplies, and prepares food in accordance with departmentalprocedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Cleans workspaces, cookingand serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to department procedures.

  • Loads and unloads thedishwasher. Stores clean equipment anddishes.

  • Uses food supplies andequipment in an efficient manner to prevent waste.

  • Uses food preparationequipment properly and follows proper cleaning techniques and preventativemaintenance schedules.

  • Communicates with DietaryServices Manager or Supervisor throughout the shift as needed to best meetneeds of the residents.
